When generating landscaping ideas, it is important to decide which landscape concepts influence you the most. You should use this as a basis for your new landscaping project. Making a beautiful Japanese-style-landscape from scratch may seem like more work than you are willing to try, especially as a first-timer.
So when generating landscaping ideas, it is important that you consider as to how much work is too much work for you.
There are many types of landscaping techniques that you can do to spruce up your yard without overworking yourself. Some of these ideas include creating your own landscape architecture whether it be simple as a scarecrow or a replica of the Iron Giant. Here are just a few simple landscaping ideas to get you started.
Derived from the Dutch word, landschap, which literally means “to shape the land” (land meaning “land” and schap meaning “to shape”), landscaping is basically the art of shaping the land that is around you. Whether you plan on using that land to host a party or create your very own after work retreat, there is no right or wrong way to reshape your land. As long as you are using your plot of land properly, most anything that you do with it can be fair game.
Rather than creating your own Japanese style garden, another way in which you can turn your big boring backyard into an Earthly Paradise is by planting your own organic garden. Incorporating some up-cycling can be a key component to sustainability and if you happen to have a child’s unused sandbox why not turn it into a personal organic garden. This can be a great way to get rid of an old eye-sore. While up-cycling can be a creative way to help reduce how much work you’ll have to put in to have a productive organic garden, you can also just till your soil, enrich it with fertilizer and plant your seeds.
For those new to organic gardening, we recommend that you start off with simple herbs such as oregano, bay leaves, marjoram, sage, and thyme, all of which can be grown in a southern climate. These herbs can be grown either outside or inside at temperatures between 65 and 70 F.(18-21 C.) during the daytime (under direct sunlight) and 55-60 F. (13-16 C.) degrees at night. Once picked, these tiny herbs go great with any source of protein that you can imagine.
Another way that you can reshape your land is by installing plants in and around your yard. For those starter gardeners, we recommend that you install sturdy flowers such as crinums, which are low-maintenance lilies that grow well during the hot summer months, and butterfly weed, which can be grown in areas with bright sunlight and poor, dry, sandy soil.
