Looking forward to the fresh start of 2018? What are you planning to do differently?
Each and every year people all over set quiet intentions to “do better, work harder, etc.” but, could you apply the same thoughts to the goals you have for around the house and lawn?
Setting a New Years Resolution isn’t necessary, but keeping in mind that some of the most important steps of lawn care this year could help you finally reach the lush, green lawn or perfectly trimmed bushes you’ve always wanted! From those thoughts, make a plan! Here are some suggestions and things to keep in mind when planning for what you want this year.
- 1. Have your lawn professionally inspected right out of the gate. This way, you’ve got an early determination of what you actually need in regards to pest treatment or fungal issues in your lawn. Some take longer to treat than others, and some take actual professionals to completely rid your lawn of anything it doesn’t need.
- 2. Spring aeration could genuinely help that grass grow tall and strong. Giving the soil some breathing room is the best way to stop compaction, which causes a lack of sunlight and water to the ground which makes for a slow and potentially patchy growth period.
- 3. Memphis and the surrounding areas are particularly hard to get the right grass seed because of the climate issues we run into. Extreme cold during the winters and extreme heat during the summers – we get the best of both worlds but its not always so easy on our lawns. This, on top of other factors, can create a desirable weed-growth condition and you should definitely make sure you’ve got an effective weed control plan in your future.
